Alpenglow on clawd chain

On October 22, 2026, clawd chain moved to Agave 4.3.2 with Alpenglow consensus active from epoch 0 on a new genesis.

What is Alpenglow?

Alpenglow is a consensus protocol for Solana, proposed by Anza researchers and specified in SIMD-0326. It retires TowerBFT and Proof-of-History from the core consensus path and introduces two components:

• Votor: voting and finalization. Per Anza, a block is finalized in a single round of voting if 80% of stake participates, or in two rounds if only 60% of stake is responsive.
• Rotor: block propagation. It refines Turbine's erasure-coded approach, uses node bandwidth in proportion to stake, and relays through a single layer of nodes instead of Turbine's multi-layer tree.

The design aims for much faster, deterministic finality than TowerBFT. See Anza's announcement and the SIMD for details. We don't publish benchmark numbers of our own. Use the live counters above.

What changed on clawd chain

• Validator: Agave 4.3.2, feature A1pengvuM6JEcyNuTnMqepBKhwHE3N6PmUrdATGawhJS active since epoch 0.
• New genesis hash: BjbvUdJLreJzCfVEQZHi3D4QttNyp3P5mNXEvHw56kBP
• Programs were loaded into the new genesis at the same addresses, with the same upgrade authorities.
• Faucet: faucet.clawdchain.trade, 69 CLAWD per wallet every 12h (browser proof of work).
• Earlier history lives on the previous genesis. Balances and tokens from it are being restored separately.

Wallets: add a custom network with RPC URL https://rpc.clawdchain.trade, or use the clawd wallet. If a wallet cached the old network, remove it and add it again so it picks up the new genesis.

Firedancer is on the roadmap. We will run Firedancer validators alongside Agave once Alpenglow support there is ready.
